Placing orders on JIST.com

Placing an order on JIST.com is quick and easy. New customers can check out and create an account at the same time or they can complete their order without creating an account. Once you have an account, you’ll be able you to:

  • Shop and check out faster on your next visit.
  • Obtain a history of items you’ve purchased online.
  • Retain items in your “wish list.”

1. Add items to your cart.
First, you will need to browse or search for the item you would like to order. Click on the item that interests you to visit its product detail page. When you’re ready to order the item, enter the number of copies you wish to purchase in the quantity box. Next, click the “continue shopping” button if you wish to order more items. Otherwise, click the “proceed to checkout” button.

2. Review your shopping cart.
You do not have to view your entire cart before you check out, but it’s a great place to look over your order. The cart displays all of the items you have selected and lets you make adjustments. You can increase or reduce the quantity of items in your cart. The cart also provides a subtotal that includes applicable sales tax, before any shipping charges are applied. Once you’re comfortable with the items in your cart, click the “proceed to checkout” button.

3. Proceed to checkout.
Returning customers can sign in to their accounts, using their e-mail address and password. New customers will need to click the “register” button to create an account.

4. Select shipping and payment methods.
Shipping: We currently offer ground (standard), next-day, second-day, or third-day delivery for all U.S. continental orders placed on JIST.com.

Payment: Select your payment method of either a credit card or purchase order and proceed to the next page. From here you will need to enter your payment details. You may also review a summary of your order and enter any comments for our customer service department. When you are ready, click “submit order” to complete the ordering process.

5. Review your order confirmation.
A confirmation page will display with a copy of your invoice. You may print this invoice by clicking the “print invoice” bottom at the bottom of the page. Shortly after this page displays, you will receive an e-mail confirming the details of your order.

Shipping, tax, and delivery

Shipping

Ground shipments in the continental United States: Shipping and handling charges for continental U.S.—regular ground shipments only: Please add 10% of the subtotal; the minimum charge is $10.00.

Rush orders: For rush orders we offer the following delivery options:

  • Next-day delivery (please add 14% of the subtotal, plus $10.00)
  • Second-day delivery (please add 13% of the subtotal, plus $10.00)
  • Third-day delivery (please add 12% of the subtotal, plus $10.00)

Tax

All shipments are FOB shipping point.

For-profit companies and residents of the following states must add sales tax: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. Sales tax is calculated by your county sales tax rate.

Not-for-profit organizations in these states must include their tax number on all orders to qualify for tax exemption.

GST and HST will be included on orders to Canada.

Delivery

We work hard to see that most orders are received, processed, and out the warehouse door within 48 hours!

New customers submitting credit information will take a little longer, and sometimes we’ll need to contact you to clarify billing/shipping information or products ordered. In any case, all orders are shipped ASAP via UPS Ground, exceptions noted below.

In the continental U.S. Ground shipments usually take 3-6 business days after the shipping date. UPS Ground does not deliver to post office boxes, so please include your street address with your order.

Outside the continental U.S. We will attempt to use the carrier of your choice, provided we can trace the shipment.

Special orders. A few catalog items are ordered from their manufacturer(s) only when we receive your order. Add two weeks to delivery times for these.

Payment and pricing

We accept payment by purchase order or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express).

Prices on products are subject to change without prior notice.

All orders are invoiced in U.S. dollars. Conversion fees charged by your credit card company may apply.

Returns

Returns for materials purchased from JIST cannot be accepted unless written approval has been secured.

Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Online products

Returns and refunds on digital offerings, including electronic codes and software, are limited to those that have not been activated or used and must be requested within 7 days of purchase. No returns or refunds will be given for any electronic codes that has been activated or for software that has been downloaded.

Product defects

In the event of a product defect:

  • Returns must be made in 30-45 days.
  • Please enclose a copy of the packing list or invoice. We cannot process a credit to your account without the packing list or invoice copy.
  • We accept returns that arrive in a condition to sell again. So pack very carefully.
  • Ship prepaid FedEx Ground or UPS, or any method that provides a way for you to trace the shipment.

Workbooks

We publish instructor’s guides for many of the JIST workbooks and we want you to have them! When you order 20 or more copies of a JIST-published workbook, please order the corresponding instructor’s guide, and put N/C (no charge) on the order form as the price. If you order 20 or more copies of a JIST-published workbook on our website, the corresponding instructor’s guide will automatically be added to your order at no charge.

DVDs and JIST Gateway online videos

JIST’s DVDs and online videos include public performance rights, meaning customers are welcome to show the DVD or online video to a live audience of people, without charge. Public performance rights do not include the right to broadcast the program online or by other means.

JIST Gateway Online Video eSamples

Video eSamples, provided to qualified professionals free of charge for review purposes, do not include public performance rights. These eSample videos are not to be shared with multiple individuals or groups.

If you are interested in obtaining a license to transmit our video programs to another site or multiple locations, you must purchase the rights to do so. Please contact your account manager to discuss your intended use for licensing and pricing information.

Can I get free JIST assessments for my dissertation or thesis?

Upon request, JIST will provide one complimentary assessment package (25 copies in print or digital format) to graduate students using JIST assessments as part of their dissertation or thesis. We require that the results or research findings be shared with JIST Career Solutions by contacting Selena Hicks, Senior Product Manager, at shicks@jist.com. If more assessments are required to complete the student’s dissertation or thesis, JIST will provide a 50% discount toward their total assessment order. The remaining costs will be owed to JIST Career Solutions prior to delivery.
